This kit upgrades a Minos controller into the full specification speed sensing internal Zeus controller. Supplied in the kit:
- Speed sensor and platter marker
- Black Anodized Aluminium OLED and Switch
- Sensor and OLED/Switch cables
- Software licence key
- Upgrade manual
The kit is universal for any 110v / 220v Minos controller.
We will need to know your existing Minos board serial number. This is available on the physical board or via software from the USB connection and you will receive a link with instructions on your order on how to locate the serial number after your purchase is made. I started with the Minos a few months ago and recently upgraded to the Zeus.
The Minos is a direct replacement for an old Valhalla board, easily installed and offering much improved speed control and timing, as well as the 45 rpm option selectable via a new switch.
So far, so (very) good, but the real magic only happens with the Zeus upgrade, which adds a platter rotation sensor, a different switch including a small OLED display, and upgrade instructions containing a unique code to be entered from a laptop via the USB connection, unlocking some very clever software giving vice-like control of speed, pitch, pace and timing. As others have said, the effect is remarkable, greatly improving all aspects of the music. My 35 year old LP12 is now back in daily use and giving me more pleasure than it ever did 35 years ago – not something I ever expected to say when I bought my first CD player in 1985!
The Zeus is an outstanding piece of kit representing remarkable value for money compared to other hifi upgrades. Valhalla Electronics is an excellent company to deal with and Steve always responds very quickly if you have a query or a problem.
