Linn Valhalla update/repair service.
This is a repair service that will service a faulty Linn Valhalla board and bring it up to the latest specifications. The standard service will replace HV caps, fit a higher-rated 1000v bridge rectifier and higher-rated 6w resistors so your Valhalla will run cooler. If necessary faulty LV caps will be replaced included in the price.
Many early Valhalla’s were not fitted with the essential Inrush Guard so this will be fitted as well. This mod replaces resistor R1 with a high-quality varistor of the correct value and will protect your Valhalla.
If necessary I will also fit the Zener diode mod.
If there is any other fault on the board I will diagnose and contact you and there may be a small fee to cover the cost of additional components. e.g. integrated circuits and transistors.
Once repairs and upgrades have been completed the Valhalla will be tested and calibrated to the recommended output voltages. All work will be carried out by an experienced Chartered Electrical and Electronic Engineer. Board will be shipped back to you via recorded delivery. Once you have ordered you will receive an email on how to ship your board.
Turnaround time is usually 7-21 days from when I received your board.
Try to ship your board in or to the UK, using a small parcel size. Ideally less than: 35 x 25 x 16 cm.

What an amazing service. The process was so smooth to update the Valhalla PSU circuit board on my LP12. Board was returned within a few days and is perfect.
Trust me, if you are suffering slow turntable problems with a 40 year old Linn LP12 and need it to be upgraded to the latest standard then this is the place to go. Many thanks Steve.

My venerable LP12 was having difficulty starting and was also running slow. The only choice seemed to be to spend £150+ on a secondhand Valhalla board of unknown provenance, until I discovered this site.
I posted the board to Valhalla Electronics on a Friday and it arrived back the following Tuesday, a number of components having clearly been replaced (Order no. 4548). The the deck now runs as good as new.

My 35 + year old LP12 that had been in the loft for the last 15 years was very slow to start had to spin by hand and would slow down to a stop was looking at what to do and found this excellent site I posted it first class on a monday morning and the following day I got a email saying it was on its way back to me arrived the next day and it is as good as new now I had thought of looking out for second hand ones or even expensive upgrades but this was by far the best and cheapest option it works perfectly now and I can’t thank you and your team enough I am enjoying my LP12 once again

My LP12 stopped, light came on but no motor movement. Though the wonders of the internet I could see it was most likely the pcb and its easy to remove it. Looks like a shocking bad design with many toasted caps and resistors. Decided to send it to Valhalla rather than fix it myself. Super quick, posted Friday, back on Wednesday and, works perfectly. Thank you.

What can I say. What great service. They got my valhalla on Saturday and it arrived back on Wednesday. Its already fitted and sounding simply better. I previously contacted Valhalla Electronics and asked for advice and again almost immediatly received extensive details and advice. I have no hesitation is recomending this service. I would like to add that if your budget can stretch I have heard the Zeus controller (internal) and think its better than a Linn Lingo 4.
